Main Idea

People from different place have different culture and social behavior. However, in most cultures, a greeting is way of starting a conversation and being friendly to someone. First impressions can be made with a greeting. In most languages, including English, a greeting is usually followed by ‘small talk’ or introductions. In this unit, we will find out how tour guides greet and introduce themselves to tourists.

การถามความต้องการอย่างสุภาพ โดยการใช้โครงสร้างประโยค ดังนี้

Would you like + Infinitive with to (V1)

Example :

Where would you like to go?

Role play

• Work in pair. Write a conversation between a tour guide and tourists. Then practice the conversation.

• Working in groups of three, brainstorm what other Dos and Don’ts foreigners should know when visiting Thailand. Then write them down on the proof and compare with other groups.

• Suppose you are a tourist. Introduce yourself to a tour guide.
